Rascal was found wondering the streets all alone. He was picked up by a good samaritan who called SMRS to help him. He is a wonderful boy full of love an energy. He has not met any dog he didn't make friends with immediately. When he came into rescue he was not neutered and had heartworms. He is now neutered and has completed his heartworm treatment. His only ongoing issue is he has luxating patellas (knees) that he takes a daily supplement for glucosamine/chondroitin to help lubricate his joints. It is not expensive and you can get it at the vet or over the counter. His patellas do make his walk look a little funny at times, but it is not a major issue. He is not in pain from the condition. He also had a condition called paraphimosis which means his penis hangs out of its sheath at times. We have done surgery to stitch his opening tighter, but he will need to be monitored in the future to see if the issue reoccurs. It does not affect his ability to urinate. Since Rascal does have some health issues that will continue into the future we prefer a home with brachycephalic experience so these issues can be properly handled.

A note from his foster mom: "Rascal is probably the happiest dog SMRS has ever had in the rescue. He has never met anyone who didn't fall in love with him. He is silly, happy, sweet, funny and a clown. He loves to drag the other dogs around by their collars or lay upside down and grab their legs. He is a riot. He is house trained and never messes up his crate. He is a joy to have around and an easy keeper. Anyone will be lucky to have him."
